George Conway, the husband of White House counselor Kellyanne Conway, is sharing a string of tweets ripping President Trump on Monday for saying fallen soldiers would be “proud” of him on Memorial Day.

Trump drew harsh criticism on social media for marking the holiday honoring fallen service members with a tweet that claimed that fallen service members “would be very happy and proud at how well our country is doing today.”

And Conway’s husband, who has appeared to frequently contradict and criticize the Trump administration in the past, took the opportunity to retweet some negative statements about his spouse’s boss.

Conway’s retweets arrive on the heels of a report in Politico alleging that the lawyer emails writers who have been critical of Trump with advice on how to improve their arguments.

The publication reported that Kellyanne Conway’s allies in the White House have been concerned about her husband’s tweets.

George Conway declined to elaborate on the report in a direct message to Politico on his Twitter account.

“If I wanted to say anything publicly, I would just say it,” he wrote.

Earlier this month, he also shared a link to the Federal Election Commission rules after it was revealed Trump reimbursed his personal attorney for a payment the attorney made to keep adult-film star Stormy Daniels quiet about an alleged affair she said she had with Trump.
