Special counsel Robert Mueller plans to ask President Trump about his former campaign chairman Paul Manafort’s possible outreach to Russia during the 2016 presidential campaign, according to interview questions obtained by The New York Times.

{mosads}The publication reported that Mueller wants to ask the president, “What knowledge did you have of any outreach by your campaign, including by Paul Manafort, to Russia about potential assistance to the campaign?”

Manafort has not yet been linked publicly to any campaign outreach to Russia.

He was charged last year in Mueller’s probe along with a former business associate, Richard Gates, of hiding millions of dollars made from lobbying work in Ukraine from U.S. authorities.

Gates pleaded guilty to the charges this year, while Manafort has pleaded not guilty.

Manafort’s trial is slated to begin in September.

The Times on Monday said it obtained the questions Mueller plans to ask Trump, which involve the president’s past business dealings, his relationship with Moscow and his connections with former staffers who have been subjects in the probe.
