Melania Trump, Karen Pence to travel to Texas

First lady Melania Trump and second lady Karen Pence are set to travel to Texas on Wednesday to meet with victims of Hurricane Harvey, along with first responders. 

The first lady visited the state with her husband in the days after Harvey struck the state.  

“While I am heartened by the strength and resilience of those impacted by the storms, I will continue doing all that I can to lend a voice and shine a spotlight on those who need assistance to rebuild and start new family traditions,” the first lady said in a statement.

The first stop on Wednesday will be in Corpus Christi, where Trump and Pence will participate in a meet-and-greet with first responders to the storm. 

Then, the pair will be off to Rockport to meet with a family whose home was destroyed in the storm.

They will also visit a local elementary school to speak with teachers and students about the storm before heading to a food back to help sort donations.
