NYC attack suspect was an Uber driver
The man who allegedly killed eight people when he drove a truck onto a bike path on Manhattan’s Lower West Side had been working as an Uber driver for six months.
Uber said Sayfullo Saipov had passed the company’s background checks and had made over 1,400 trips during his work with the service.

Uber reportedly banned Saipov from the company immediately after the attack and said it was in contact with the FBI.
“We are horrified by this senseless act of violence. Our hearts are with the victims and their families. We have reached out to law enforcement to provide our full assistance,” Uber said in a statement.
The revelation comes less than a day after Saipov allegedly injured numerous people and left eight people dead after he drove onto a bike path.
President Trump has since called for extreme vetting in the wake of the attack, claiming that the alleged attacker entered the country through a “Diversity Visa Lottery Program.”
I have just ordered Homeland Security to step up our already Extreme Vetting Program. Being politically correct is fine, but not for this!

The terrorist came into our country through what is called the “Diversity Visa Lottery Program,” a Chuck Schumer beauty. I want merit based.
