Charlottesville suspect was infatuated with Nazis, former teacher says
The man police say rammed his car into a crowd of people protesting a white nationalist rally on Saturday in Charlottesville, Va., was “very infatuated with the Nazis,” according to one of his high school teachers.
James Alex Fields Jr., 20, of Ohio is charged with second-degree murder, malicious wounding and failure to stop in an accident that resulted in death.
Federal officials also have opened a civil rights investigation.
