Ousted US attorney Preet Bharara has a book deal
The U.S. attorney whom President Trump unexpectedly fired earlier this year has struck a book deal.
Alfred A. Knopf announced on Thursday that Preet Bharara was in the process of writing a book about the “search for justice.”
{mosads}Bharara, who served as the U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York for nearly eight years, was fired along with other Obama administration holdovers last March, after President Trump told him his job was safe.
The ousted U.S. attorney has since been a vocal critic of the president, most recently saying there is “absolutely evidence” to begin an obstruction of justice case into Trump.
Bharara has claimed that before Trump fired him, the president has tried to foster a relationship with him, promising the lawyer “independence.”
The book is scheduled for a 2019 release and will be about the law, with a focus on integrity and moral reasoning, according to Bharara.
