Special counsel Robert Mueller is investigating the business dealings of President Trump’s son-in-law and senior adviser, Jared Kushner, according to a new report.

Officials familiar with the probe into alleged ties between the Trump campaign and Russia during the 2016 presidential election told The Washington Post on Thursday that Mueller is investigating the finances and business dealings of Kushner as well as other Trump associates.

{mosads}Those being looked into include former national security adviser Michael Flynn, former campaign chairman Paul Manafort and Carter Page, another campaign adviser to Trump.

Reports last month said Kushner had come under scrutiny in the FBI’s investigation and that the bureau was specifically looking into his interactions with a Russian businessman and Russian Ambassador Sergey Kislyak.

The Post noted that Mueller’s probe into Russia’s attempts to meddle in the election and potential ties between Trump campaign staff and the Kremlin is still in its early stages.

“We do not know what this report refers to,” Jamie Gorelick, Kushner’s lawyer, told the newspaper.

“It would be standard practice for the Special Counsel to examine financial records to look for anything related to Russia. Mr. Kushner previously volunteered to share with Congress what he knows about Russia-related matters. He will do the same if he is contacted in connection with any other inquiry.”

The Post on Wednesday reported that the Mueller’s team is investigating whether or not Trump sought to obstruct justice.
