Uber’s board discussing leave of absence for CEO: report

Uber’s board of directors will meet on Sunday to discuss a leave of absence for the ride-hailing company’s chief executive, Travis Kalanick, according to The New York Times.

The board is also expected to discuss recommendations from former Attorney General Eric Holder’s investigation into the culture at Uber, which has been grappling with sexual assault allegations from current and former employees, the Times reported.

News of the board meeting comes a month after Kalanick’s mother was killed in a boating accident in which his father was seriously injured.

{mosads}Kalanick has been seen as the face of the growing tech company.

The Wall Street Journal reported it is unclear whether the car-hailig company’s board would approve a leave of absence, which would require finding a temporary replacement quickly.

The Hill has reached out to Uber for comment.
