Obama slams GOP for Clinton impeachment talk

President Obama in a new radio ad criticizes Republicans for talk of impeaching Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton.

“Unfortunately, some Republicans are already gearing up to do everything they can to stop any progress in Washington,” Obama says in the beginning of the radio ad, which was first reported by CNN.

“They’ve said they would stop any future Democratic Supreme Court nominee and spend their time on endless investigations,” the president continues.

“And believe it or not, there are even some Republicans in Congress who have already said they want to start the impeachment process.”

Obama says the “gridlock and obstruction” in Washington need to stop. The president then urges listeners to vote for Democrats for Congress, saying Republican candidates are promising “more gridlock and inaction.”

“Send a message by sending leaders to Washington who will work for you,” Obama said.

“And won’t just put their party over progress.”

The ad is being run by the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee in Florida and Virginia, CNN reported.

In recent days, some GOP congressmen raised the possibility of a Clinton impeachment.
