Trump: CNN a ‘press shop’ for Clinton

Donald Trump is going after CNN, claiming in a series of tweets Monday afternoon that network employees are biased against him.

The Republican presidential nominee sent half a dozen tweets accusing CNN of being a “press shop” for Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton.

{mosads}Trump also claimed that CNN anchors are “completely out of touch with everyday people” and “support Hillary.”

He seemed to offer suggestions on topics for the network to cover, floating “Clinton Foundation corruption and Hillary’s pay-for-play at State Department” as one.

Trump is attacking media amid a firestorm of criticism — including from members of his own party — over his feuding with the parents of Capt. Humayun Khan, a Muslim American soldier killed in Iraq in 2004.

Trump claimed he was “viciously attacked” by the father, Khizr Khan, who slammed Trump in a speech at the Democratic National Convention last week and questioned whether he had read the Constitution while criticizing Trump’s views.

The businessman also sniped at the slain soldier’s mother, questioning why she had not spoken publicly more often. Ghazala Khan has given multiple interviews, often becoming emotional over the loss of her son, and penned an op-ed responding to Trump.

Trump has frequently feuded with media outlets, including during the Republican primary, when he picked fights with CNN and even Fox News. A spokesperson for CNN did not immediately return a request for comment.

Trump’s tweets also came shortly after journalist Fareed Zakaria, host of CNN’s Sunday show “Fareed Zakaria GPS,” called Trump a “bullshit artist” Monday afternoon when the nominee tried to walk back other comments that Russia wouldn’t go into Ukraine.
