Heritage Foundation leader: Trump camp is open ‘to work with us’
Heritage Foundation President Jim DeMint said Donald Trump’s campaign has shown it is open to working with the conservative group, BuzzFeed News reported.
“We’re hoping that we can push him to carry some conservative ideas into the election and to win it,” DeMint said on WBAP News Talk 820 AM.

DeMint said his think tank doesn’t endorse candidates but instead promotes ideas.
“His campaign has shown an openness to work with us, and so hopefully we can fill his campaign with the right ideas,” he said.
The former South Carolina senator declined to say whom he supports but noted the foundation’s conservative values.
“Well, you know I find that my role at Heritage, I can’t get involved,” he said. “But we’ll be for the most conservative in this race.”
Trump is now the presumptive GOP presidential nominee after his victory Tuesday night in the Indiana primary. Ted Cruz dropped out of the race after his loss there, and reports say John Kasich will announce he is suspending his campaign later Wednesday.
