Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz’s father, Rafael Cruz, on Tuesday called allegations linking him to John F. Kennedy assassin Lee Harvey Oswald “ludicrous.”

“It’s ludicrous; it’s ludicrous,” he told ABC News.

{mosads}Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump on Tuesday said the Texas senator’s father was with Oswald before he shot Kennedy.

He was referencing a National Enquirer story that published images of what it said were Rafael Cruz and Oswald passing out pro-Fidel Castro leaflets in 1963 in New Orleans, a few months before the JFK assassination.

Cruz shot back at the front-runner after he made the allegations, calling him a “pathological liar” and “utterly amoral.”

Rafael Cruz said he hadn’t seen the report but said he was never in New Orleans at that time.

“That’s typical of Donald Trump,” he said.

“Just attack and just make all kinds of innuendo and attacks with no substance whatsoever.”

Rafael Cruz said his son would defeat Trump as votes were rolling in in the Indiana primary.

“We will beat him,” Rafael Cruz said. “And Ted Cruz will be the next president of the United States.”
