Gore warns of ‘extremist fringe’ Republicans taking Congress, White House

Gore specifically mentions former Karl Rove, who served as adviser to former President George W. Bush and is co-founder of pro-GOP super-PAC American Crossroads, and billionaires David H. and Charles G. Koch — favorite targets of Democrats.

Gore’s former running mate —former President Clinton- is also getting involved in the upcoming 2012 elections. Clinton will formally renominate President Obama at the Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, N.C., in September. 

“I am fully committed to doing everything I can to make sure we win a Democratic majority to partner with President Obama. I hope I can count on you. Please join me,” Gore concludes in the email.
