Ann Romney: Mitt ‘always’ breaks into song on horseback

{mosads}She volunteered that he mostly sings Western “because it’s so appropriate,” naming Garth Brooks as one of his favorite artists to impersonate.

A clue to other favorite artists might be found on Romney’s official Spotify playlist, which includes Toby Keith’s “As good as I once was” and Tim McGraw’s “It’s your love.”

Romney previously shared his singing voice on the campaign trail in January, breaking into a rendition of “America the Beautiful” in Florida. But Ann Romney said he frequently sings to her, which puts her in good company with first lady Michelle Obama, who has said her husband — the president, that is — regularly sings to her.

Ann Romney, who suffers from multiple sclerosis, rides for therapy as well as enjoyment. She said she and her husband frequently ride together. “It’s so fun to see him having so much fun,” she said, adding: “It’s so interesting to see what happens to every single person who sits on the back of a horse.”

She also spoke about the “sisterhood of wives” of the GOP candidates, and admitted she particularly commiserates with Ron Paul’s wife, Carol, during debates.

“Carol Paul and I are quite fond of each other … we both agree that we hate the debates … sometimes we hold hands,” she said. She said watching the debates is a difficult experience for a spouse. “So much of politics right now is ‘gotcha’.”

Ann Romney has spent some time the last two days responding to political flaps relating to her husband’s campaign. Speaking to Medved, she reiterated that she was “not offended” by a joke made by actor Robert De Niro about the country not being “ready for a white first lady” while introducing Michelle Obama at a fundraiser in New York City Monday night. De Niro has since apologized.

And Mitt Romney has been struggled to overcome a comment made by adviser Eric Fehrnstrom on Wednesday suggesting that Romney can “reset … like an Etch A Sketch” between the primary and general campaign. Democrats, as well as Romney’s GOP rivals Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum, immediately used the comment to suggest Romney would change his positions in order to get elected. Romney has said the comments were misinterpreted.
