Fiorina: Obama hitting GOP over refugees ‘outrageous’

Republican presidential candidate Carly Fiorina ripped President Obama on Wednesday for lashing out at Republicans who oppose allowing Syrian refugees into the United States.

“It is outrageous that a sitting president, immediately following a terrorist attack where we know that ISIS is attempting to plan attacks here in the U.S., that he would use his time to attack Republicans,” Fiorina said on Fox News’s “America’s Newsroom.”

{mosads}”This is revealing of the fact that President Obama doesn’t understand the nature of the threat. I guess he’s like Hillary Clinton, he thinks Republicans are his enemies,” Fiorina said.

“He’s a politician, not a leader,” she added. “President Obama is speaking in a way that is beneath this office.”

While speaking to reporters in Manila, Philippines, on Wednesday morning, Obama went after Republican politicians for opposing his administration’s plan to resettle 10,000 Syrian refugees over the next year.

“Apparently they are scared of widows and orphans coming into the United States of America,” Obama said.

“At first, they were too scared of the press being too tough on them in the debates. Now they are scared of 3-year-old orphans. That doesn’t seem so tough to me,” he added, apparently referring to remarks by New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie that he opposes allowing any Syrian refugees, even “orphans” younger than 5 years old, into the U.S.

“This president is delusional when he says he has a strategy to win. He does not,” Fiorina said Wednesday on Fox, referring to the fight against Islamic militants.

“Politics is his north star,” she added, comparing the president’s remarks to the “clarity of purpose” exuded by French and British leaders.
