Ex-Sheriff David Clarke: I will not be intimidated into silence

Former Milwaukee County Sheriff David Clarke Jr. said Tuesday that he will not be intimidated into silence following the suspension of his Twitter account for making threats against journalists.

“I will NOT be Intimidated into silence by LYING LIB MEDIA. I will NOT be intimidated by LIBERAL hyper partisan government HACKS who weaponize government authority to go after people whose views they don’t like. I will STAND AND FIGHT for TRUTH & what I believe is RIGHT. JOIN ME,” Clarke tweeted shortly after his account was reinstated.

Clarke’s account was held on read-only mode until he deleted three tweets that were found to have violated the social media site’s user policy.

In a message to one of the users who complained that was verified by CNN, Twitter said it found Clarke to be in violation of its platform’s rules, which bar users from making “specific threats of violence or wish for the serious physical harm.”

In one of the now-deleted tweets, Clarke, a fervent supporter of President Trump supporter, showed himself superimposed over a wrestler kicking another wrestler bearing the CNN logo, who was pictured being held by Trump.

“When LYING LIB MEDIA makes up FAKE NEWS to smear me, the ANTIDOTE is go right at them. Punch them in the nose & MAKE THEM TASTE THEIR OWN BLOOD,” he said in the tweet.

Clarke’s posts came in reaction to reports of a court complaint filed against his former police department that alleged Clarke had illegally held a man for interrogation.
