DSCC launches ad in Indiana Senate race tarring Mourdock as radical
{mosads}It features a clip of Mourdock from a well-known MSNBC interview in 2011 during which he said that “bipartisanship ought to consist of Democrats coming to the Republican point of view.” The clip from that interview in the DSCC ad features Mourdock saying, “to me, the highlight of politics frankly is to inflict my opinion on someone else.”
The ad goes on to highlight Mourdock’s position on Medicare and Social Security — that they are unconstitutional — and tars him as a “radical.”
It’s typical of the Democratic attack in Indiana, where Mourdock is running neck-and-neck against Democrat Joe Donnelly, despite the state’s lean towards Mitt Romney in the presidential race. Democrats believe Mourdock’s election to the Republican candidacy, instead of Sen. Dick Lugar (R-Ind.), could deliver them a win in the state.
