Hagan heads to Harvard
Former Sen. Kay Hagan (D-N.C.) is heading to Harvard.
{mosads}Hagan will be a visiting fellow at the Harvard Institute of Politics, teaching in Cambridge, Mass., this spring.
National Democrats are hoping they can convince Hagan to take another stab at the Senate after losing a hard-fought, close race to now-Sen. Thom Tillis (R-N.C.) in November. They want her to challenge Sen. Richard Burr (R-N.C.) next year.
She’d be done with Harvard in plenty of time to make another run, though the move toward academia may signal she’s not dying to jump right back in the fray after a grueling two-year campaign.
Other Harvard fellows this semester include former Massachusetts gubernatorial and Senate nominee Martha Coakley (D), former National Republican Senatorial Committee deputy executive director Matt Lira, and former New York City mayoral candidate Christine Quinn (D).
