Senate GOP raises monthly record $15.5M

The National Republican Senatorial Committee has pulled in $15.5 million in September, it announced Tuesday, setting a one-month fundraising record, as it heads into the campaign’s final stretch.

The NRSC has now raised more than $97 million, the most it’s raised in a cycle. It did not announce how much cash it has left in the bank, though totals tend to drop near the election, as campaign committees pay for field operations and TV ads.

The Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee has yet to release its September numbers. The committee has outraised the NRSC through much of the cycle, having hauled a total of $111 million through the end of August.

{mosads}“We are well positioned to take the majority in November thanks to the overwhelming support from across the country,” NRSC Chairman Jerry Moran (Kan.) said in a statement. “Over the last 20 months, we’ve revamped NRSC’s direct mail technologies and invested heavily in building a more robust digital operation that has successfully tapped in to the grassroots energy and enthusiasm that’s out there to shake up the Senate.

“This class of Republican candidates is one of the strongest in decades and these resources will help lead them to victory in November,” he continued. “We cannot thank our supporters enough, each of whom is a partner in the effort to win the Senate.”

Republicans’ hopes of winning the six seats they need to take over the Senate have been looking up in recent weeks.
