Trump watches as Melania casts her vote
Donald Trump appeared to glance over at his wife’s ballot as the two cast their votes Tuesday in New York City, according to video from CNN.
The GOP presidential nominee and Melania Trump voted at around 10:30 a.m. at a public school in Midtown. Ivanka Trump was also with the couple.
{mosads}The family was greeted with boos from onlookers at the polling station.
Melania Trump has kept a relatively low profile on the campaign trail after her speech at the Republican National Convention this summer drew criticism for copying parts from an address given by first lady Michelle Obama.
Trump’s wife made an appearance on his behalf last week, when she spoke of the need to combat cyber bullying. The speech was mocked by some who said Melania Trump should talk to her own husband about his Twitter account.
But she has stuck by her husband during the grueling and divisive campaign, including through allegations from a dozen women that he kissed or groped them without their permission.
The Election Day video, captured by CNN, quickly became fodder for jokes on social media, where many users retweeted the images to question whether Trump was making sure his wife was voting for him.
A sampling of the reaction follows.
