Trump hails ‘courage’ of FBI for email review

Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump on Friday hailed the news that the FBI is opening an investigation into Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton’s email server in light of newly discovered emails.

Trump opened a rally in Manchester, N.H., by saying he hopes the Justice Department amends its decision not to press charges over the former secretary of State’s use of a private server.

{mosads}”Hillary Clinton’s corruption is on a scale that we have never seen before,” he said. “We must not let her take her criminal scheme into the Oval Office. I have great respect for the fact that the FBI and the Department of Justice are now willing to have the courage to right the horrible mistake that they made.

“This was a grave miscarriage of justice that the American people fully understood, and it is everybody’s hope that it is about to be corrected,” he told the crowd.

The crowd responded by chanting “lock her up.”

Trump’s comments come after FBI Director James Comey said in a vague and brief letter to Congress on Friday that the agency has found emails “that appear to be pertinent to the investigation” that was closed in July. Comey said the agency would begin reviewing those emails.

The decision threatens to upend an already tightening race with just over a week until Election Day.

“With that being said, the rest of my speech is going to be so boring,” Trump said at the rally.
