Poll: Clinton up 6 points nationally
Hillary Clinton leads Donald Trump by 6 points nationally among likely voters, according to a new Reuters/Ipsos poll released Wednesday.
{mosads}Clinton has 42 percent support, with Trump at 36 percent, the poll found. Libertarian nominee Gary Johnson has 8 percent, and Green Party nominee Jill Stein has 2 percent.
In a head-to-head matchup, Clinton’s lead expands to 7 points, 44 to 37 percent.
The poll showed Clinton with an edge in favorability: 50 percent for the Democratic presidential nominee to 44 percent for Trump.
One-fifth of respondents said the economy is the main problem facing the country today.
The poll was conducted from Sept. 29 to Oct. 3 among 1,928 Americans and 1,239 likely voters. The margin of error is 2.5 percentage points for the whole sample and 3.2 points among likely voters.
According to the RealClearPolitics average of polls, Clinton has a 3.8-point lead over her Republican rival in a four-way matchup, 43.9 to 40.1 percent.
