Poll: Clinton leads big among ‘Hamilton,’ ‘Morning Joe’ fans
Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton leads Republican rival Donald Trump among fans of the hit Broadway show “Hamilton,” according to a new Echelon Insights poll
{mosads}Clinton is favored by 61 percent of registered voters who say they’ve either seen “Hamilton” live or listened to the soundtrack.
Trump is backed by only 28 percent of “Hamilton” listeners.
Lin-Manuel Miranda, the creator of the show, earlier this month called the presidential election “bat-s— crazy.”
Miranda supports the Democratic nominee and has in the past criticized Trump. He released a “musical” earlier this month featuring him singing several of Trump’s tweets before urging viewers to vote in November.
The Echelon poll also found that Clinton leads Trump among viewers of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.”
Clinton is supported by 56 percent of registered voters who say they watch the morning show. Trump is backed by 36 percent of viewers.
The GOP nominee often criticizes the “Morning Joe” co-hosts for their coverage of his presidential campaign, and they fire back.
He has publicly feuded with Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski through Twitter over the past few months, slamming the show for its “small audience” and “low ratings.”
He has also called Brzezinski “a neurotic and not very bright mess.”
The poll found Clinton leading Trump in a head-to-head matchup among likely voters, 47 percent to 42 percent. According to the poll, 48 percent of registered voters think Clinton won Monday night’s presidential debate, and 22 percent said Trump won.
The Echelon Insights poll was conducted Sept. 26-27 among 1,833 registered voters.
