Donald Trump said in an interview broadcast Sunday that he hopes his charitable foundation has followed all rules and laws, adding that none of its money has benefited him.

{mosads}When asked on Sharyl Attkisson’s “Full Measure” if the Trump Foundation has followed all the laws, he replied: “Well, I hope so. I mean, my lawyers do it.

“We give away money. I don’t make anything; I take no salaries; I take no … costs. I have zero costs, and a lot of money goes through the Trump Foundation into charities. Goes to charities, it doesn’t go to me; it goes to charities.”

Trump’s campaign is grappling with new allegations that the Republican presidential nominee used the foundation to pay business expenses.

Last Tuesday, The Washington Post published tax and legal documents alleging Trump’s foundation spent $258,000 to settle lawsuits that involved Trump’s for-profit operations.

The latest allegation comes after Trump’s foundation was found to have made an improper $25,000 donation to a group supporting Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi (R). That donation came at the same time her office was considering whether to investigate a fraud lawsuit against Trump University.

The Republican nominee also reportedly used foundation money to buy two portraits of himself.

New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman said Tuesday that his office is investigating the foundation “to make sure it’s complying with the laws governing charities in New York.”
