Poll: Trump leads Clinton by 3 in Ohio

Donald Trump has a 3-point lead over Hillary Clinton in the pivotal battleground state of Ohio, a new poll finds.

Trump has 42 percent support among likely voters to Clinton’s 39 percent, according to the Suffolk University survey released Thursday. Libertarian presidential nominee Gary Johnson has 4 percent, and Green Party nominee Jill Stein is at 1 percent.

{mosads}Trump has surged in polls in recent days, both nationally and in swing states like Ohio.

Two separate polls released Wednesday — one by Bloomberg News and one by CNN/ORC — found Trump up by 5 points in the state.

Clinton maintains a 2-point lead in the RealClearPolitics average of national polls.

Even though they backed Trump, the Ohioans polled say they believe Clinton will ultimately become the next president.

Forty-five percent predict Clinton will win the White House, and 37 percent said Trump will. Another 18 percent are uncertain.

Suffolk University’s poll of 500 likely voters was conducted Sept. 12–14 via telephone interviews. It has a 4.4 percentage point margin of error.
