Black Trump surrogate calls on Clinton to disavow KKK video

Pastor Mark Burns, a black Donald Trump surrogate, is slamming Hillary Clinton for a new campaign video that links the Republican presidential nominee to the Ku Klux Klan.

{mosads}”Hillary Clinton and her campaign went to a disgusting new low today as they released a video tying the Trump Campaign with horrific racial images,” Burns said in a statement released by the Trump campaign on Thursday.

“This type of rhetoric and repulsive advertising is revolting and completely beyond the pale. I call on Hillary Clinton to disavow this video and her campaign for this sickening act that has no place in our world.”

Burns, a member of Trump’s diversity coalition, advises the billionaire on African-American and religious issues.

Clinton’s campaign tweeted out the video Thursday morning as she prepared to deliver a major address linking Trump to the “alt-right” movement, which she’s labeled as the fringe of conservatism embraced by Trump’s new campaign CEO, former Breitbart News executive Steve Bannon.

The video includes pictures of KKK leaders, along with video of white supremacists lauding Trump.

“The reason a lot of Klan members like Donald Trump is because a lot of what he believes, we believe in,” a man wearing KKK garb says in a clip of an interview included in the video.

The spot also includes white supremacists defending Trump, noting how a group did unsanctioned robocalls for him during the primary.

Trump is trailing Clinton, the Democratic presidential nominee, significantly with black voters, but he has made overtures to African-Americans during speeches over the last week, accusing the Democrats of not adequately protecting them.
