Disabled woman: I feel sorry for Trump

PHILADELPHIA — A woman with cerebral palsy who advocates for the disabled said she pitied Donald Trump here Monday and that she felt bad “for anyone with that much hate in their heart.”

Anastasia Somoza slammed the GOP presidential nominee at the Democratic National Convention, accusing him of defining people “in the narrowest terms possible.”

{mosads}Her remarks were preceded by a video package attacking Trump for his earlier remarks, where he appeared to mock a disabled reporter.

“Donald Trump has shown us who he really is, and I honestly feel bad for anyone with that much hate in their heart,” she said. “He doesn’t see me, he doesn’t hear me, and he definitely doesn’t speak for me.”

Somoza touted Hillary Clinton as a candidate, who she first met as a child when the presumptive Democratic nominee was first lady.

“In a country where 56 million people so often feel invisible, Hillary Clinton sees me,” she said. “She sees me as a strong woman, a young professional, a hard worker, and the proud daughter of immigrants.”
