Trump won’t release tax returns before election

Donald Trump says he does not plan to release his tax returns before the November election, according to The Associated Press.

“There’s nothing to learn from them,” the presumptive GOP presidential nominee told the AP on Tuesday, adding he’s facing an ongoing audit and doesn’t think voters care.

{mosads}The Internal Revenue Service issued a statement in February saying nothing prevented Trump from releasing his tax returns following a series of calls by his presidential primary opponents for the businessman to release his returns.

Mitt Romney, the 2012 GOP presidential nominee, speculated in March that Trump was trying to hide something in his financial past.

Trump’s campaign released a letter from his attorneys in March saying his returns had been “under continuous examination” since 2002. He has continued to decline calls to release his returns since then.

“I’ll do it as fast as the auditors finish,” Trump said Sunday on NBC’s “Meet the Press.”
