Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump on Tuesday slammed Ford Motor Co. for its plans to build an assembly plant in Mexico.

Trump called the news an “absolute disgrace,” according to Bloomberg News.

{mosads}”Our dishonest politicians and the special interests that control them are laughing in the face of all American citizens,” Trump said in a statement, according to Bloomberg.

“These ridiculous, job crushing transactions will not happen when I am President. The United States now has a three quarter trillion dollar merchandising trade deficit with the world.”

Ford announced plans to invest $1.6 billion on a new small-car factory in Mexico, according to The Detroit News.

Construction will begin on the plant this summer, and vehicles will be produced in 2018, according to the newspaper. Ford plans to create 2,800 direct jobs by 2020. A majority of the vehicles will be exported to the United States.

The announcement also drew criticism from the leader of the United Auto Workers union.

Trump has been slamming Ford on the campaign trail for months for its investments in Mexico.
