Cruz suggests O’Reilly moderate one-on-one debate with Trump
Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz on Tuesday suggested that Fox News personality Bill O’Reilly moderate a one-on-one debate between him and front-runner Donald Trump.
On “The O’Reilly Factor” on Tuesday, Cruz criticized Trump’s foreign policy and argued that Trump is “afraid to debate.” When O’Reilly responded that he was not going to defend Trump, Cruz suggested he invite the businessman to defend himself.
{mosads}“You know what? I’ve got an idea. Why don’t you ask Donald Trump to come here and defend himself. Donald is afraid to debate,” Cruz said.
“Bill, you can moderate,” Cruz continued. “He wouldn’t argue that you’re an unfair moderator.”
O’Reilly insisted Trump might still call him an unfair moderator but said at the end of the show that “we will work on that debate.”
“It’d be terrific,” Cruz said.
