Trump decries media double standard over Clinton barking
Donald Trump said Tuesday the media is fawning over Hillary Clinton for barking like a dog at a campaign rally, claiming he’d get raked over the coals for doing the same thing.
Speaking at a campaign rally in North Augusta, S.C., Trump called Clinton a “joke,” before addressing her campaign stop in Nevada earlier in the day, in which she barked like a dog during a segment meant to taunt Republicans.
“I’m watching television and I see her barking like a dog,” Trump said. “No, she’s barking like a dog. And everyone says, ‘Oh wasn’t that wonderful, wasn’t that wonderful. Isn’t that cute? Isn’t that great?’”
“If I ever did that I’d be ridiculed all over the place,” Trump said. “I won’t do it, I’m not going to imitate her. But she’s barking like a dog and they’re saying ‘wonderful’, but if Trump does it you’d read about it, they’d say, ‘What’s wrong with Trump?’ So there will be no barking.”
At a campaign stop in Reno, Nev., earlier Tuesday, Clinton said there should be a dog trained to bark every time a Republican says something untruthful.
“I’m trying to figure out how we can do that with the Republicans,” she said. “We need to get that dog and follow them around, and every time they say these things like, ‘Oh, the Great Recession was caused by too much regulation’ — arh, arh, arh, arh!”
