Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump on Tuesday criticized President Obama for watching the new “Star Wars” film amid rising anxiety over global terrorism.

“We are in a serious war [and] our president is busy with another war,” a new ad on Trump’s Instagram account said.

{mosads}The clip shows Obama departing his year-end press conference Dec. 18 for a special showing of “Star Wars: The Force Awakens.”

“OK everybody, I’ve got to get to ‘Star Wars,’ ” the president said as he wrapped up.

“We need a real president,” the ad says. “Time for a leader with real priorities.”

The video features news coverage highlighting the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria’s (ISIS) growing sophistication, citing reports that it can now forge passports. And it mentions the terrorist attacks in San Bernardino, Calif., and Paris that have unnerved people worldwide.

Obama testily defended his strategy for defeating ISIS during his last media conference of 2015.

“Whenever I say that we have made progress in squeezing the territory that they control or made real inroads against them, what people will say is, ‘Well, if something happens around the world, then obviously that must not be true,’ ” he said at the time.

“In any battle, in any fight, even as you make progress, there are still dangers involved. We’re going to defeat ISIS.”

“The Force Awakens” opened in theaters earlier this month amid heavy fanfare. Reports emerged Monday that the sci-fi epic had passed $1 billion in ticket sales faster than any film in history.
