Bernie Sanders said early Tuesday that he is “delighted” Hillary Clinton has taken some of the same positions as he has amid their race for the Democratic presidential nomination.

{mosads}”I am delighted that in the last couple of months Hillary Clinton has come on board positions that I have held for many, many years,” Sanders said in an interview on NBC’s “Today” show.

“So I’m glad that Hillary Clinton is moving in my direction,” the Independent Vermont senator said, citing Clinton’s recent opposition to the Keystone XL pipeline and an international trade deal.

Sanders said earlier this month that he was glad the former secretary of State had come out in opposition to the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP), the massive trade deal between the U.S. and 11 other Pacific Rim nations.

Sanders, a self-described democratic socialist, has run closely with Clinton in the early voting states of Iowa and New Hampshire and is now one of just two candidates opposing her in the race.

Clinton, Sanders and former Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley appeared over the weekend at a major Democratic event in Iowa, where Sanders came out swinging against Clinton.

Asked Tuesday if he would acknowledge that Clinton has a better shot at locking up the Democratic nomination, Sanders said, “Absolutely not.”
