Christie jokes he may ‘go nuclear’ at next debate
New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie joked on Monday’s “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” that he may “go nuclear” during the next GOP presidential primary debate this month.
{mosads}”There was one point where I went 20 questions in a row without being asked a question, and that’s hard,” Christie said on the show, referring to the first debate last month.
“Stay tuned, on September 16, I may be changing tactics,” Christie said. “If I get to, like, 15 questions in a row … you’re gonna go, ‘Uh-oh, he’s going to go nuclear now.'”
Christie is expected to be on the main stage on Sept. 16 in Simi Valley, California, but is fending off a potential challenge from former businesswoman Carly Fiorina, who missed the prime-time spot last time.
The New Jersey governor has so far failed to gain traction for his White House bid, drawing just 2 percent support in a new survey from the left-leaning Public Policy Polling.
