Clinton’s doctor says she is ‘fit to serve’

Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton is healthy enough for the Oval Office, a new report says. 

{mosads}Clinton’s personal physician found no serious ailments during a recent examination. 

“[She] is in excellent physical condition and fit to serve as president of the United States,” wrote Dr. Lisa Bardack in a letter dated Tuesday. 

Bardack is the chief of internal medicine at Mount Kisco Medical Group in Westchester County, N.Y., Bloomberg News reported. Clinton’s campaign released the doctor’s assessment of the former secretary of State on Friday following an examination earlier this week.

Bardack found that Clinton, 67, never smokes and drinks alcohol only occasionally. 

She also suffers from seasonal pollen allergies and hypothyroidism, a common ailment among women over 60.

Bardack listed Clinton’s current medications as Armour Thyroid, antihistamines, vitamin B-12 and Coumadin, an anticoagulant.

She additionally noted Clinton’s previous medical conditions, including a concussion in 2012, an elbow fracture in 2009 and deep vein thrombosis in both 2009 and 1998. Bardack’s report concluded that those problems were previously documented by public media coverage. 

Clinton’s campaign also revealed on Friday that it plans to issue her tax returns from 2007 to 2013 later in the evening.

Aides told Bloomberg on Friday that the release of Clinton’s medical and tax history is a mark of her transparency with voters.

Clinton, the front-runner for the Democratic presidential nomination, has struggled with criticism of her trustworthiness since entering the 2016 race earlier this year.

The former first lady launched her campaign on April 12 in an online video.

Clinton followed that move with a formal kickoff event on June 13 at Roosevelt Island in New York City.
