Dem candidate Ossoff sets new fundraising record in Georgia race
Democratic congressional candidate Jon Ossoff raised a total of $23 million in Georgia’s highly contested House special election, setting a new fundraising record.
The Democrat has raised an additional $15 million within the last two months. Ossoff raised more than $8.3 million prior to the initial special election on April 18.
{mosads}The race, which has garnered national attention, is the most expensive race in the history of the House, costing $40 million overall.
The suburban Atlanta district has historically favored Republicans, but polls show a tight race between Ossoff and Republican Karen Handel. The June 20 runoff election will decide who will fill the seat last held by Health and Human Services Secretary Tom Price.
The news comes as Handel faces backlash after she said she did not support a “livable wage” on Tuesday.

America First Policies, a pro-Trump group, launched an ad campaign targeting Ossoff on Tuesday.
