Trump hits back at Huffington Post: ‘A glorified blog’
Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is hitting back at the Huffington Post for announcing its decision to move Trump coverage from its politics section to entertainment.
“Mr. Trump is number one in the unimportant Huffington Post poll, along with all other recently released polls including Reuters, FOX, USA Today/Suffolk University and The Economist,” the Trump campaign said in a statement released Friday afternoon.
{mosads}The campaign slammed the site and its namesake, saying that Trump’s tweets clearly betray his dislike for Arianna Huffington and “the money-losing Huffington Post.”
“The only clown show in this scenario is the Huffington Post pretending to be a legitimate news source,” Trump’s statement expands. “Mr. Trump is not focused on being covered by a glorified blog. He is focused on Making America Great Again.”
In its own statement Friday morning, The Huffington Post said it would no longer feature articles about Trump under its Huffington Post Politics vertical, because “Trump’s campaign is a sideshow.”
Trump stories would instead be found under the Huffington Post Entertainment banner.
“If you are interested in what The Donald has to say, you’ll find it next to our stories on the Kardashians and The Bachelorette,” the statement continued.
